The Story Behind Julie Thompson Creates

Crossing the globe for work and pleasure, I’ve enjoyed sunset toasts, terrace brunches, Tuscan garden celebrations and magical Hawaiian meals. All of that was made better by sharing my love of all things delicious, beautiful and tasteful with friends and family. When I first started traveling, I bought a postcard in every city I visited. I thought it might be fun to use them as the design on trivets and tiles as a form of keepsake. Eventually I began to collect wine bottles and labels from my travels. Having worked for 30 years as a corporate flight attendant, I’ve been lucky enough to gather unique wine labels and rare post cards from some of the most alluring destinations in the world. What started as a hobby has turned into a small business, with the support of my amazing and creative husband. In addition to handmade one-of-a-kind trivets and tiles, I make wine glasses from old wine bottles. I think they’ll make a great addition to your family gatherings, holiday parties and other celebrations. Whether or not you’ve tasted some of these exotic wines or visited the destinations I’ve have had the pleasure to embrace, I hope my collection helps you connect with your own happy memories of traveling.
